London Kayak Company

The London Kayak Company was started in September 2016, by Harry Whelan.

Harry is best known for his epic circumnavigations of Ireland & Britain, he has been paddling in a professional & full time capacity now for more than 20 years and although his fame as an expedition paddler has spread far and wide, most of his day to day guide paddling is done on the River Thames.

The River Thames, explains Harry, is one of the worlds most interesting (and for a guide, challenging) sections of water there is. Fast flowing estuarial waters, even faster moving commercial traffic and historical distractions/attractions at every turn.

The London Kayak Company specialises in guided sea kayak journeys along the River Thames, operating between Battersea and Greenwich. The company uses stable, double sea kayaks, fitted with rudders and caters for all levels of experience, from total novice to advanced paddler. Harry only employs experienced Lead guides who have attained their ‘LKE’ (local knowledge endorsement), or shall be leading the trips himself.
