Richards paddling career has taken him in a multitude of different directions in the past 20 odd years from surf canoe, a bit of kayak then more surf then surf skis/ wave skis. The overriding influence has always been the sea. His first boat was to be used on the sea. Richard modified? A white water racing kayak with plywood (as bulkheads) for a trip around the farn islands up in the north east.

Sea Kayaking has been a personal thing until now. Recently he has made the decision to become a sea kayak coach / guide,  It’s been the best decision yet.
