About This Guide
I have been paddling since I was 10 year old having been brought up on the shores of the Orkney Islands. Sailing and fishing and working the sea is in the blood with fishermen and sailors all through my family. Although sea kayaking is the backbone of my paddling work I love white water, surf and also used to play canoe polo in the national divisions. I have been coaching and guiding for almost 20 years and I started Sea Kayak 59 Degrees North a sea kayak coaching and expedition centre in 2020 and have running it ever since.
