About This Guide
Moving back to the West Coast of Ireland from the UK as a child, I began my relationship with the ocean through surfing. I joined a youth adventure club in my teens and this is where I first developed a passion for kayaking. Whitewater and surf kayaking was where I developed my skills while studying Outdoor Education for 6 years and I spent my summers working as a sea kayaking guide. I spent a year studying in North Carolina where I took modules in advanced swift water rescue, advanced white water kayaking, and expedition skills. As well as guiding in windsurfing, sailing, surfing, coasteering and white water, sea kayaking is where I enjoy my time most. After leading sea kayak tours along the Copper Coast in Ireland and the Jurassic Coast in Dorset I decided to further my knowledge in sea kayaking, foraging, bushcraft and expedition skills. I have been guiding sea kayaking groups for over 10 years now along various coastlines in the UK and Ireland and enjoy helping people develop and enhance their skills in a sea kayak while also providing knowledge of the environment they're in through ecology, foraging and stories. I currently hold my BCU advanced sea kayak leader as well and being a qualified advanced ISKGA guide after accumulating 28 days training with Jeff Allen. I have also recently completed a diploma in foraging.
