About This Guide
Gordon commenced kayaking on the Thames in London prior to moving to North Wales in 1998. Changing careers into Outdoor Education he decided to join the trainee programme at Plas Menai National Watersports centre. Here gordon was quickly introduced to the local white water runs which led to a trip to the French Alps that summer plus an inspirational sea kayaking instructor who took me to the Inner Hebrides on my first sea kayaking trip.
Leaving Plas Menai gordon joined Cwm Pennant Mountain Centre, led by Dave Evans (head of BCU Sea Kayaking at the time). Dave soon had him on trips around Angelsey and the Llyn Peninsular, Bardsey Island, etc. and gordon and fellow instructors started gaining our own experiences with trips to Scotland, Syke, Slate Isles, Summer Isles. His furthest adventure then commenced with two of us heading to New Zealand and circumnavigating Stewart Island.
Gordon now run’s, with my wife, Bach Ventures based in Snowdonia running multi activity courses for families, friends, schools and youth groups. I can be found anywhere from the mountains, gorges or coasteering around fine spots on Anglesey but never as happy as when running our Discover Sea Kayaking or Intro to Kayaking courses. His
His aim is to introduce our customers to the joys of exploration from discovering themselves, to exploring new coastlines while in a caring capacity for our environmental as well as ourselves.
Discover, Explore, Care.
