Ella Zehnder

Ella is a sea kayak coach and leader from Berne, Switzerland. She loves technical and playful paddling along rocky coastlines. What people usually find most remarkable about Ella is the fact that she always coaches with much laughter and a smile on her face. And in the same manner, her paddling style can be described as light and "easy", too: No matter whether on calm or rough water, it’s usually not Ella’s approach to muscle herself through it but to use smart and more "cat-like" tactics, based on technique, efficiency, finesse and her extra-ordinary agility. Nonetheless, her leadership and group-handling is super-robust and her rescue und incident management skills sharp – a necessity when working primarily on the swell-exposed coastlines of Northern Spain.

Ella’s been a Greenland paddler from the very beginning of her career and never bothered much at all about Euro blades. So unsurprisingly, Greenland rolling – and teaching Greenland rolling – is her other great passion.
