I currently work as a freelance outdoor instructor, Sea kayak guide and supply teacher.
I have been working for Sea Kayak Cornwall (www.seakayakingcornwall.com), Surf Kayak Skills (www.surfkayakskills.com), Skern Lodge activity centre (www.skernlodge.co.uk) and EBO adventure coaching and guiding kayaking.

I started Kayaking at the age of 19, this was while working at Skern lodge in North Devon (UK). With the Atlantic right on my doorstep I developed a passion for surf kayaking.

I have competed national and internationally in surf kayaking. Achieving a UK ranking of 8th and surfed at the world championship in Portugal 2008.

I have surfed all over the South West of the England and South Wales. I have also surf kayaked in Portugal and Ireland.

My sea kayaking experience developed whilst teaching outdoor adventure at South Downs College and Falmouth Marine School. I taught students kayaking and used the seakayaking for student expeditions.

Since living in Cornwall my passion for exploring the coast by sea kayak has grown. The freedom to explore the beautiful coastline in a sea kayak is a great pleasure and privilege.

I have not attempted any long expeditions however probably not for long. Although many have now circumnavigated the UK, the different personalities and changeableness of my home coast draws me the most to explore more. So perhaps one day soon I might go for a paddle and just keep going round.

I have recently attended the six week intensive Advanced Guide training programme at Sea Kayaking Cornwall and qualified as an ISKGA Advanced Guide
